Forge & Flame is a new name with a long memory. Behind it are three of the most storied stove companies in North America, Vermont Castings, Harman, and Quadra-Fire, plus the PelPro and WoodPro value lines. If you know those names, you already know these stoves.

Brand SummaryForge & Flame is the stove brand Hearth & Home Technologies introduced in August 2023 to bring Vermont Castings, Harman, and Quadra-Fire under one name.[1] In 2026, the lineup moved to series names: WSX, WS, and W wood stoves; PSX, PS, and P pellet stoves; GSX gas stoves; and the ES electric stove.[4][5] Most of the original model names carry on.

What Is Forge & Flame?

For decades, Vermont Castings, Harman, and Quadra-Fire were three separate companies, each started by founders who built stoves with their own hands: Duncan Syme in Randolph, Vermont, Dane Harman in Halifax, Pennsylvania, and Alan Trusler and Dan Henry in Colville, Washington.[16][17][18] Hearth & Home Technologies bought Quadra-Fire in 1998, Harman in 2007, and Vermont Castings in 2014.[11][12][13]

In August 2023, HHT brought all three under one name, Forge & Flame, to simplify buying a stove and promote stoves as a category.[1] Harman's Karen Harman Smeltz, then at HHT, said at the launch that new product development, manufacturing, and distribution would stay the same.[2] In 2026, the lineup moved from brand names to Forge & Flame series, and the heritage names became the technology inside.[4]

Where Are Forge & Flame Stoves Made?

Mostly in Halifax, Pennsylvania, in the plant that grew from the steel building Dane Harman put up beside his house in 1979. Forge & Flame calls it a zero-waste facility.[7] The cast iron comes from the foundry in Randolph, Vermont, Vermont Castings' hometown since 1975.[6] Quadra-Fire production moved to Halifax from Colville, Washington, in 2017, and Quadra-Fire's engineering team stayed in Colville.[15]

Who Sells and Services Forge & Flame Stoves?

Forge & Flame says every one of its stoves is sold, installed, and serviced by an independent local dealer, and warranty claims for the heritage lines go through your authorized dealer.[8][9] The PelPro P series and WoodPro W series are also sold through retailers like Tractor Supply, Home Depot, and Lowe's.[10] Whichever you choose, the install is what makes a stove safe and efficient, so get it done right.

I Have an Older Harman, Quadra-Fire, or Vermont Castings. Is It Still Supported?

Yes. Hearth & Home Technologies still owns all three brands and supports them through Forge & Flame dealers, who order parts by model and serial number. The old websites, harmanstoves.com, quadrafire.com, and vermontcastings.com, now forward to Forge & Flame, but old deep links often land on error pages, so start from the brand pages instead. Photograph the rating label on your stove before you call.
