Who It's For
In a large house, a small stove heats one room and leaves the rest to the furnace. You need a firebox big enough to carry the whole floor plan. The Forge & Flame WP-300 is for the large home where wood is the main heat and the owner wants long burns and fewer trips to the woodpile. A smaller stove keeps you busy; this one does more with each load.
What Makes It Special
Its 2.26 cubic foot firebox is the largest in the line and can burn up to 12 hours on a load, so an evening fire can still be working at breakfast.
Heavy-gauge steel and a cast iron door give it the strength for constant use. A quick-start design and two air levers make the fire easy to start and easy to slow down.
It is rated to heat up to 3,000 square feet.
Possible Downsides
- There are no finish choices.
- It is more stove than a small space needs; the WP-100 suits smaller homes.
If you heat a large home with wood and want fewer reloads, the Forge & Flame WP-300 is the right decision. The whole house stays warm, and the woodpile goes down slower than you expected.
It comes in one configuration, black steel with a cast iron door.

Frequently Asked Questions
How big a home can the Forge & Flame WP-300 heat?
The Forge & Flame WP-300 is rated for about 1,500–3,000 square feet, which makes it the WoodPro stove for a large home where wood is the main heat. If your space is smaller, the WP-100 is the better fit, since the WP-300 is more stove than a small room needs.
How long will the WP-300 burn on one load of wood?
Expect roughly 8–12 hours per load. The 2.26 cubic foot firebox is the largest in the WoodPro line and takes logs up to 18 inches long, so an evening fire can still be going at breakfast.
How do the air controls on the WP-300 work?
It uses two air levers: a burn rate control and a timed start-up control the manual calls Smart Air. After you light the fire and engage the timer, it gradually closes the front air channel over about 25 minutes, so you don't have to come back and turn the stove down.
What size chimney pipe does the WP-300 need?
It has a 6-inch flue collar and vents into a 6-inch single-wall or double-wall connector joined to a listed UL103HT Class A chimney or a masonry chimney. The pipe can run straight up, or out the back wall through a 90-degree elbow off the top.
Can I put the WP-300 in a mobile home or an alcove?
Yes to both, with conditions. It's approved for mobile homes when it's not in a sleeping room, the Outside Air Kit (part OAK-ACC) is installed, and the stove is grounded to the frame. An alcove install needs double-wall connector pipe and can be no more than 48 inches deep.
What floor protection does the WP-300 need in front of it?
In the US, a non-combustible floor protector has to run under the stove and extend at least 16 inches in front of the glass and 8 inches to each side of the loading door. In Canada, the requirement is 18 inches in front.
How efficient and clean-burning is the WP-300?
It carries an 80% certified efficiency rating, and the manual lists it as certified to the 2020 EPA particulate standard at 1.6 grams per hour. Its peak output is listed at 61,700 BTU per hour.
What does the WP-300 warranty cover?
The WoodPro limited warranty covers steel parts for 5 years, parts only with no labor. Paint, glass, firebrick, and gaskets aren't covered, and the manual says signs of over-firing, like a warped air tube, void it.
The WoodPro Story
