Who It's For

A pellet insert is a great heater, but it needs an existing fireplace to slide into, and plenty of homes don’t have one. You need pellet heat that builds into a wall. The Forge & Flame Accentra52i-TC 24-inch, powered by Harman technology, comes with its zero-clearance box, so it installs in a framed wall with no masonry fireplace behind it. It is for the home that wants the strongest of these built-in pellet fireplaces and the longest time between refills. Choose a freestanding stove and you give up floor space; choose this and the heat comes from the wall.

What Makes It Special

This is the pairing of both upgrades: two blowers and a 64.5-pound hopper. The blowers carry heat across a large room, and the bigger hopper means fewer trips to the pellet bags.

Harman rates it to heat 900 to 2,600 square feet; in most homes, expect 1,250–2,500 sq ft, depending on climate and layout.

Harman says the Accentra52i-TC needs up to 50% less maintenance than other pellet inserts, and the Easy Touch control adds scheduling, cleaning prompts, and a fuel gauge. The tinted hopper lid shows the fuel level, and the flame-reactive mirrored glass turns into a dark mirror when the fire is off.

The zero-clearance box is included, so it builds into a framed wall and finishes with tile or stone. Pick matte black or Majolica Brown.

Possible Downsides

If you want the most heat and the fewest refills from a built-in pellet fireplace, the Forge & Flame Accentra52i-TC 24-inch is the right decision. The fire runs through the cold snap, and the house stays warm without you tending it.

Choose matte black or Majolica Brown, then add a ceramic log, a surround extension or custom surround, a flue rough-in support kit, a service rail kit, or a damper block-off plate.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much space does the Forge & Flame Accentra52i-TC 24-inch pellet fireplace heat?

In most homes the Forge & Flame Accentra52i-TC 24-inch heats 1,250–2,500 sq ft, depending on climate and layout, and Harman rates it as high as 2,600 square feet. It's built on Harman technology and uses two distribution blowers to carry heat across a large room.

Can I install the Accentra52i-TC if I don't have a fireplace?

Yes. The Accentra52i-TC comes with its zero-clearance box, so it builds into a framed wall and finishes with tile or stone, and that cabinet is the only permitted way to install it without a fireplace. A cabinet install vents with type PL pipe out a wall or through the roof, since flex pipe isn't approved there.

Will the Accentra52i-TC fit into my existing fireplace instead?

It can, if the opening is at least 24-7/8 inches wide, 15-9/16 inches deep, and 24 inches high for this 24-inch hopper model. In a masonry fireplace or a factory-built wood fireplace with a Class A chimney, it vents through 4-inch stainless steel flex pipe, and zero clearance kits adapt it to factory-built fireplaces.

How do the hopper and controls on the Accentra52i-TC work?

The 64.5 lb hopper sits under a tinted, illuminated lid that shows the fuel level. You run it from the Easy Touch control panel, which adds scheduling, cleaning prompts, a fuel gauge, and a built-in programmable thermostat, paired with a wireless room sensor that reads the temperature where you sit.

Does the Accentra52i-TC need electricity, and what happens in an outage?

Yes, its blowers and controls run on 120-volt household power, so it shuts down in an outage without backup. A Harman-approved UPS such as the TrippLite INTERNET750U only powers a safe, smoke-clearing shutdown, while an approved inverter/charger on a 12-volt deep-cycle battery can run it for up to eight hours.

How efficient is the Accentra52i-TC, and how much upkeep does it need?

It has a 76% efficiency rating, a weighted average on the higher heating value, and it's EPA certified at 1.1 grams per hour. Harman says it needs up to 50% less maintenance than other pellet inserts, and its PelletPro feed system is designed to burn any grade of pellet fuel.

How does the Accentra52i-TC compare with the P42i-TC?

The Accentra52i-TC 24-inch pairs two blowers with the larger 64.5 lb hopper, and of the two inserts, only the Accentra comes in Majolica Brown porcelain as well as Matte Black. The P42i-TC is a bit more efficient, at 79% versus 76% on the higher heating value, and both come standard with the small surround.

Is the Accentra52i-TC approved for mobile homes?

Yes, the Accentra52i-TC is approved for mobile homes when it isn't in a sleeping room. The install needs a Harman outside air kit, listed Class PL connector pipe, and a ground to the home's frame with at least 8 AWG copper wire, and the home's floor, ceiling, and walls must stay structurally intact.

The Harman Story

Harman was founded by Dane Harman, a welder, who built his first stove in 1978 and started Harman Stove and Welding beside his home in Halifax, Pennsylvania, in 1979. Its pellet stoves grew out of a patented coal stoker, with a bottom-feed burn pot that pushes ash out and a probe that feeds by temperature. Hearth & Home Technologies bought Harman in 2007, and since 2023 its stoves have been sold under the Forge & Flame name, “Powered by Harman Technology.”
