Who It's For
Big stoves dominate small rooms. The stove should fit the space and the style. You need a compact pellet stove with a clean, modern shape and heat sized for a smaller home. If that describes your house, the Forge & Flame Santa Fe, featuring Quadra-Fire burn technology, is a good match. Choose it and the room gets warmer without feeling crowded.
What Makes It Special
It has a small, contemporary shape, and Quadra-Fire rates it to heat 700 to 1,900 square feet; in most homes, expect 750–1,550 sq ft, depending on climate and layout. That’s enough for a smaller home or a main living area.
The 52 lb hopper carries a good day or more of fuel. A digital wall thermostat is included, and the stove picks among three heat settings to keep you comfortable.
Possible Downsides
- Its efficiency is lower than the larger stoves here. For more efficiency, look at the Outfitter II.
- The ceramic logs are extra.
- A remote is optional.
If you want a compact, modern pellet stove for a smaller space, the Forge & Flame Santa Fe is the right decision. The room stays warm and still feels open.
Add a two-piece ceramic log set, a remote control, an outside air kit, a flue adapter, or rear and top vent adapters.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size space is the Forge & Flame Santa Fe pellet stove for?
In most homes, the Forge & Flame Santa Fe heats 750–1,550 sq ft, depending on climate and layout, though Quadra-Fire rates it as high as 1,900 square feet. That suits a smaller home or a main living area, and its compact, contemporary shape keeps the room from feeling crowded.
How do the Santa Fe's thermostat and heat settings work?
A digital wall thermostat is included: when it calls for heat, the Santa Fe lights automatically, and when the room is warm enough, it shuts down. A switch on the back picks low, medium, or high burn rates, where lower settings run quieter but take longer to warm the room, and a handheld remote is optional.
How long does a hopper of pellets last in the Santa Fe?
The Santa Fe's 52 lb hopper carries a good day or more of fuel, and the brochure lists a burn rate of 1.0 to 3.4 lb of pellets an hour depending on the setting. The manual calls for premium wood pellets, and an aluminum heat exchanger moves the heat into the room.
What happens if the power goes out while the Santa Fe is running?
The Santa Fe needs 115-volt power, and an outage during operation shuts it off immediately, which can let smoke back-draft into the house. To reduce that risk, the manual strongly suggests at least 5 feet of vertical vent pipe and an outside air kit mounted at least 4 feet below the vent termination.
What vent pipe does the Santa Fe use, and can it vent from the top?
It uses 3-inch or 4-inch type L or PL pellet vent and can exhaust straight back through a wall or up through the roof. Optional adapters cover rear horizontal venting with a clean-out, rear-to-top vertical venting, a top vent with heat shield, and 3-inch to 4-inch or 3-inch to 6-inch pipe transitions.
How close to walls can the Santa Fe sit, and will it fit an alcove?
Vented horizontally through the wall, the Santa Fe needs just 2 inches to the back wall, 6 inches to a side wall, and 2 inches to the walls in a corner. It fits an alcove at least 43 inches tall and 38 inches wide, up to 36 inches deep, with 6 inches to each side wall.
How efficient is the Santa Fe compared with larger pellet stoves?
The Santa Fe is rated 66% efficient on the higher heating value, which is lower than the larger stoves in the lineup; if efficiency matters most, look at the Outfitter II. It's still EPA certified to the 2020 particulate standard, with emissions of 1.1 grams per hour.
Can the Santa Fe go in a mobile home?
Yes, the Santa Fe is approved for mobile homes as long as it isn't in a sleeping room. The OAK-ACC outside air kit must be installed, the stove must be grounded to the home's frame, and you can use only listed Class L or PL pellet vent connector pipe.
The Quadra-Fire Story
Quadra-Fire was founded by Alan Trusler and Dan Henry as Aladdin Steel Products near Colville, Washington, in 1978–79. Its Quad-Burn system, introduced in 1986, burns wood smoke in four zones without a catalytic combustor. HON Industries (now HNI) bought the company in 1998, and since 2023 Quadra-Fire stoves have been sold under the Forge & Flame name, with the original model names.
