Who It's For
Heating a large home with wood usually means splitting more, loading more, and fussing more. You want the heat without the effort. The Forge & Flame Millennium 4300, featuring Quadra-Fire burn technology, is for the larger home where wood is the main heat and the owner wants long burns and a stove that manages its own startup. A smaller stove means more trips to the woodpile; this one means fewer.
What Makes It Special
It takes logs up to 18 inches and can burn up to 12 hours on a load.
Automatic Combustion Control adds air when you light the fire, then closes on its own in about 20 minutes. Once it is set, you can walk away and enjoy your day.
It stands on a pedestal with a cast iron arched door over a welded steel firebox.
Possible Downsides
- The fan is a separate kit.
- It is too much stove for a small room; the 2100 suits smaller spaces.
If you heat a large home with wood and want it to be easy, the Forge & Flame Millennium 4300 is the right decision. The house stays warm through the night, and the chore list gets shorter.
Add the 160 cfm fan kit, a satin nickel door upgrade, or an outside air kit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Forge & Flame Millennium 4300 big enough to heat a large home?
Yes. In most homes, expect the Forge & Flame Millennium 4300 to heat 1,550–3,100 sq ft, and it's built for larger homes where wood is the main heat. It stands on a pedestal, with a cast iron arched door over a welded steel firebox; for a small room, the 2100 is the better size.
How long does the Millennium 4300 burn on a full load?
Expect approximately 8–12 hours from a load in the Millennium 4300's 2.26 cubic foot firebox, which takes logs up to 18 inches of seasoned cordwood. It's EPA certified to the 2020 particulate standard at 1.6 grams per hour.
Do I have to babysit the fire in the Millennium 4300?
No. Its Automatic Combustion Control opens extra start-up air when you light or reload the Millennium 4300, then closes on its own in about 20 minutes so you can walk away. After that, the burn rate control sets how much air feeds the fire and how much heat you get.
How do I clean out ashes from the Millennium 4300?
The Millennium 4300 has an Ash Removal System: once the stove and ashes are completely cool, you lift a cast iron cap in the firebox and sweep ash down a channel into a drawer below. The manual recommends leaving 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ash on the firebox floor so air flows under the wood.
What add-ons are available for the Millennium 4300?
You can add a 160 CFM fan kit with rheostat speed control and automatic or manual settings, which plugs into 115-volt power. The other options are a satin nickel door upgrade kit, with hinge pins, spring handle, and air control handle, and an outside air kit.
What are the venting and wall clearance requirements for the Millennium 4300?
It uses a 6-inch flue, vented straight up, horizontally after at least 2 feet of vertical pipe, or through the back wall off a 90-degree elbow with double-wall pipe. With single-wall pipe it needs 11-3/4 inches to the back wall and 14-1/2 inches to a side wall; double-wall pipe cuts the back clearance to 5-1/4 inches. Alcoves can be up to 48 inches deep.
How large a hearth pad does the Millennium 4300 need?
In the US, the non-combustible floor protector must reach at least 16 inches in front of the glass and 8 inches past each side of the loading door; Canada requires 18 inches in front. The brochure lists a minimum of 31-5/8 inches wide by 41 inches deep, and with horizontal venting the protector also runs under the flue pipe and 2 inches beyond each side.
Can I install the Millennium 4300 in a mobile home?
Yes, the Millennium 4300 is approved for mobile homes, though never in a sleeping room. That install needs the OAK-ACC outside air kit, double-wall connector pipe with a UL103 HT chimney and a spark-arrestor cap, and a ground to the home's frame with #8 copper wire.
The Quadra-Fire Story
Quadra-Fire was founded by Alan Trusler and Dan Henry as Aladdin Steel Products near Colville, Washington, in 1978–79. Its Quad-Burn system, introduced in 1986, burns wood smoke in four zones without a catalytic combustor. HON Industries (now HNI) bought the company in 1998, and since 2023 Quadra-Fire stoves have been sold under the Forge & Flame name, with the original model names.
