Who It's For

Pellet stoves can hum and rattle in a quiet room. Heat should not come with a soundtrack. You need a compact stove that is easy to run and quiet in the background. If you want refined pellet heat for a small to medium home, the Forge & Flame Absolute43, powered by Harman technology, delivers it. Choose it and the stove fades into the room while the heat stays.

What Makes It Special

Its quiet, variable-speed blowers ease up and down with the fire instead of running full blast. A wireless room sensor tells the touch control what the room actually feels like.

Harman rates it to heat up to 2,400 square feet; in most homes, expect 1,100–2,200 sq ft, depending on climate and layout. The tinted glass hopper lid has LED lighting so you can check fuel at a glance, and the mirrored glass looks sleek when off. Pick Black, Majolica Brown, or Sand.

Possible Downsides

If you want a quiet, smart pellet stove for a smaller home, the Forge & Flame Absolute43 is the right decision. The room is warm, calm, and quiet enough to hear the conversation.

Choose Black, Majolica Brown, or Sand, and add an outside temperature kit or a cast iron hearth pad.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much of my home will the Forge & Flame Absolute43 heat?

Harman rates the Absolute43 for up to 2,400 sq ft, but in most homes you can expect 1,100–2,200 sq ft depending on climate and layout. Its BTU input runs from 14,100 to 44,200 per hour, with 77% HHV efficiency and EPA-certified emissions of 0.99 g/hr.

Should I choose the Absolute43 or the larger Absolute63?

The Absolute43 is the compact one, with a 52 lb hopper against the Absolute63's 72 lb and a 2,400 sq ft rating against 3,400 sq ft. For a large home, the Absolute63 is the better fit. Both have a tinted, LED-lit hopper lid so you can check fuel at a glance.

How quiet is the Absolute43, and how does it control the temperature?

Its variable-speed blowers ramp up and down with the fire instead of running full blast. A wireless room sensor reports the actual room temperature to the EASY Touch Control, and an exhaust sensing probe adjusts output to hold your setting. The touch screen also has scheduling, diagnostics, cleaning prompts, and a fuel gauge.

What routine cleaning does the Absolute43 need?

Scrape the burn pot every time you add pellets or at least every three bags, and empty the large concealed ash pan weekly; the stove can stay on low while you do. With the stove off, cold and unplugged, clean the glass, heat exchanger, distribution fan and igniter regularly, then do a yearly total clean of the combustion fan and venting before each season.

What happens if the power goes out while the Absolute43 is running?

The combustion blower stops, so the stove can't keep burning normally and some exhaust may seep into the room. An approved UPS (TrippLite INTERNET750U) powers a safe shutdown, while an approved inverter/charger on a 12-volt deep cycle battery can run the stove for up to eight hours.

How close to walls can I put the Absolute43, and will it fit an alcove?

It needs 2 inches from the back wall, 6 inches from a side wall, or 6-1/4 inches in a corner, though 3-inch PL vent pipe needs 3 inches of its own clearance. Alcoves must be at least 42 inches high and 36 inches wide and no more than 24 inches deep. In the US, the floor protector extends 6 inches to the sides and front and 1 inch behind.

Can the Absolute43 go in a mobile home?

Yes, it's approved for mobile homes when it isn't in a sleeping room. The maker's outside air kit must be installed for combustion air, and the stove must be grounded to the frame of the home. It vents through 3-inch pipe.

What finishes and add-ons can I get with the Absolute43?

The cast iron body comes in Black, Majolica Brown, or limited-edition Sand. You can add an outside temperature kit or a Harman Protect cast iron hearth pad. Only dealers trained on the Absolute43 can order and install it.

The Harman Story

Harman was founded by Dane Harman, a welder, who built his first stove in 1978 and started Harman Stove and Welding beside his home in Halifax, Pennsylvania, in 1979. Its pellet stoves grew out of a patented coal stoker, with a bottom-feed burn pot that pushes ash out and a probe that feeds by temperature. Hearth & Home Technologies bought Harman in 2007, and since 2023 its stoves have been sold under the Forge & Flame name, “Powered by Harman Technology.”
