Who It's For
Big, older homes lose heat quickly, and a lightweight stove struggles. Heat should keep up all winter. You need a powerful, durable stove that runs on a schedule. If that is your house, the Forge & Flame Trekker, featuring Quadra-Fire burn technology, is the stove for it. Choose it and the furnace sits idle much of the season.
What Makes It Special
It’s built with cast iron on all major parts. Quadra-Fire rates it to heat 1,300 to 2,900 square feet; in most homes, expect 1,300–2,550 sq ft, depending on climate and layout.
A seven-day programmable wall thermostat comes standard, so the house warms up before you wake. Five heat settings, a single-lever ash dump, and an 80 lb hopper make daily use easy.
Possible Downsides
- The ceramic log set costs extra.
- A remote is optional.
If you want a powerful, long-lasting pellet stove for a larger home, the Forge & Flame Trekker is the right decision. Mornings start warm, without anyone touching the stove.
Choose Classic Black, Porcelain Twilight, or Porcelain Mahogany, and add a two-piece ceramic log set, a remote, an outside air kit, a flue adapter, or vent adapters.

Frequently Asked Questions
How big a home can the Forge & Flame Trekker pellet stove heat?
In most homes, the Forge & Flame Trekker, featuring Quadra-Fire burn technology, heats 1,300–2,550 square feet, depending on climate and layout. It has the most heat in its pellet stove family, is rated 78% efficient on the higher heating value, and is certified at 0.74 grams per hour.
Can I program the Trekker to warm the house before I wake up?
Yes. A seven-day programmable wall thermostat comes standard and lets you set up to four temperature levels each day, so the house warms before you get up. The stove also has five heat settings, and a remote is optional.
How often do I fill and clean the Trekker?
The 80 lb hopper feeds 1.9 to 5.9 lb of pellets an hour depending on the heat setting, so how often you fill it depends on how hard it runs. Pull the single-lever ash dump to clear the fire pot daily or as needed, and empty the ash pan weekly or every three to five bags.
What is the Trekker made of?
All its major parts are cast iron. It uses a cast iron airfoil heat exchanger, which Quadra-Fire offers only on the Trekker, and a patented cast iron firepot that runs above 1,000 degrees so pellets burn completely and leave only fine ash.
What vent pipe does the Trekker use?
It vents with 3-inch or 4-inch Type L or PL pellet pipe, either horizontally through the wall or vertically. Optional adapters include a 3-inch to 4-inch pipe adapter, a 3-inch to 6-inch top flue adapter, and rear and top vent adapters with clean-outs.
How close to a wall can the Trekker go?
Vented horizontally through the wall, it needs just 2 inches from the back wall and 6 inches from a side wall, or 2 inches in a corner. It also fits an alcove at least 43 inches tall and 40 inches wide, up to 36 inches deep.
What happens to the Trekker in a power outage?
It runs on 115-volt household power, so it stops heating when the power goes out. Once power returns, it restarts on its own without priming, as long as the thermostat is still calling for heat.
Is the Trekker approved for mobile homes?
Yes, as long as it isn't installed in a sleeping room. The OAK-3 outside air kit must be installed, the stove must be grounded to the home's frame, and you can use only listed Class L or PL pellet vent connector pipe.
The Quadra-Fire Story
Quadra-Fire was founded by Alan Trusler and Dan Henry as Aladdin Steel Products near Colville, Washington, in 1978–79. Its Quad-Burn system, introduced in 1986, burns wood smoke in four zones without a catalytic combustor. HON Industries (now HNI) bought the company in 1998, and since 2023 Quadra-Fire stoves have been sold under the Forge & Flame name, with the original model names.
