Who It's For
With a dial-controlled stove, you are the thermostat: turning it up in the morning, down at night, and back up when the weather turns. You need a stove that holds a temperature on its own. The Forge & Flame TSC90 is for the homeowner who wants pellet heat that behaves like a furnace and a cast iron stove that looks like a traditional one. Pick a manual stove and you keep adjusting; pick this one and you set it once.
What Makes It Special
The digital thermostat control lets you choose a comfort level and the stove works to keep the room there, so the temperature stays even through the day.
The body is cast iron, which gives it a classic look and holds warmth. It heats up to 2,200 square feet, and a large 90-pound hopper and roomy ash area mean fewer fills and less cleaning. A fan is included to push heat into the room.
It is clean enough to sell in every state, comes with a fresh-air kit that makes it mobile-home approved, and is designed and built in the USA.
Possible Downsides
- It needs electricity to run the fan and controls.
- There is one configuration with no finish or add-on choices.
If you want a pellet stove that keeps the room at the temperature you choose, the Forge & Flame TSC90 is the right decision. You set it in the fall, and the room feels the same every evening all winter.
It comes complete with its blower and fresh-air kit; there are no options to select.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much of my house can the Forge & Flame TSC90 heat?
The Forge & Flame TSC90 is rated to heat 1,100–2,200 sq ft. The manual ties the upper figure to your climate zone, so a well-insulated home in a milder area gets closer to the top of that range than a drafty one in a cold region.
What kind of vent pipe does the TSC90 use, and can it go out a side wall?
It uses 3-inch or 4-inch type L or PL pellet pipe and can vent straight out an exterior wall or run vertically. The manual recommends 4-inch pipe once you need more than two 90° elbows or more than 15 feet of venting, and any horizontal run past 48 inches needs at least 60 inches of added vertical pipe.
Will the TSC90 keep running during a power outage?
No. The TSC90 needs 110-volt power for its fans and controls, and the manual notes it hasn't been tested with a third-party battery backup. If you plan to run it on a generator, the manual recommends a steady-state generator for the best performance.
How long will a full hopper of pellets last in the TSC90?
The 90 lb hopper holds enough pellets for more than two days of continuous burning, according to the brochure. That figure is for the low setting, so you'll refill sooner when you run the stove harder on cold days.
How does the TSC90's digital thermostat work?
You pick a comfort level on the built-in digital thermostat and the TSC90 adjusts its output to keep the room there. If you'd rather sense temperature from another spot, an external thermostat is sold separately, and you set the stove's settings menu to EXTERNAL to use it.
Can I put the TSC90 in a mobile home?
Yes. The TSC90 is mobile home approved, and the outside air kit that ships with it must be installed in that case. The manual also requires grounding the stove to the home's frame with #8 copper wire and bolting it to the floor through the holes provided.
How close to the wall can the TSC90 sit, and what floor does it need?
It must sit on a non-combustible floor or hearth pad. Set straight back with vertical venting, it needs 3 inches from the back wall to the pellet pipe and 13 inches from a side wall, plus 7 inches above the top and 48 inches clear in front; vented horizontally, the back can come within 2 inches of the wall.
Is the TSC90 EPA certified, and how efficient is it?
Yes. The TSC90 has an 88% efficiency rating and is certified to the EPA's 2020 particulate standard at 1.11 grams per hour. The brochure says PelPro stoves meet the emissions rules of all 50 states, including Washington, Oregon, and California.
