Who It's For
A large house in a cold climate can outrun a mid-size stove, and you end up reloading it in the middle of the night. You need a stove with the size to heat the whole place and hold a fire until morning. If your home runs up to 3,000 square feet and you want that heat in traditional cast iron, the Alderlea T6 is the one. Go smaller and the far rooms stay cool.
What Makes It Special
The T6 has the largest Alderlea firebox and takes logs up to 20 inches. Logs load straight in, front to back, and a full load burns approx. 8–12 hours, so there are live coals when you get up.
Like every Alderlea, the T6 is a steel stove wrapped in cast iron. The steel firebox floats inside so it can expand and contract freely, while the cast iron soaks up heat and gives it back to the room the way the sun warms your face. Pacific Energy backs that construction with a limited lifetime warranty.
Lift the top for a concealed cooktop that fits a 6 x 13-inch pan, with swing-out warming shelves. It burns with no electricity and fits close wall clearances without heat shields.
Possible Downsides
- It is built for spaces up to 3,000 square feet. For a smaller home, the T5 or T4 is the better size.
- The blower is optional, not included. Without it, the stove heats by radiation alone.
- Metallic black only. For porcelain color, look at the T5 Classic or T4 Classic.
If you want one cast iron stove to heat a large home through the night, the Alderlea T6 is the right decision. The whole house is warm on the coldest morning, and the kettle is already on the stove.
The Alderlea T6 comes in metallic black cast iron, with an optional blower.

The Pacific Energy Story
Pacific Energy Fireplace Products was founded in 1978 by Paul Erickson in Duncan, British Columbia. It's best known for steel and cast-iron wood stoves, many finished in porcelain enamel from its own plant, and it also builds wood fireplaces, gas fireplaces, and gas stoves. The same company makes Town & Country gas fireplaces, True North, and Elegant Electric. Sweden's NIBE group became the majority owner in 2022, and NIBE's 2023 annual report lists the company as wholly owned.
