Who It's For
A plain steel box heats a room, but it rarely makes the room feel like home, and in a small space every inch of floor counts. You need a stove with real character that does not crowd the room. If you heat a smaller home or open space of up to 1,500 square feet and love the look of a traditional cast iron stove, the Alderlea T4 is the one. Choose a plain steel stove and you get the heat without the charm.
What Makes It Special
An Alderlea is a steel stove wrapped in cast iron. The steel firebox floats inside so it can expand and contract freely, while the cast iron soaks up heat and gives it back to the room the way the sun warms your face. Pacific Energy backs that construction with a limited lifetime warranty.
The T4 is the compact Alderlea, and it is designed to fit close wall clearances without heat shields, which helps in a tight room. Logs load side to side, one lever sets the burn, a full load runs approx. 7–10 hours, and the ash disposal system comes standard.
Possible Downsides
- No cooktop. The concealed cooktop and warming shelves are on the T5 and T6 only.
- The blower is optional, not included. Without it, the stove heats by radiation alone.
If you want a traditional cast iron stove sized for a smaller home, the Alderlea T4 is the right decision. The room gets a stove that looks like it has always been there, and a warmth that reaches every corner.
The Alderlea T4 comes in black cast iron, with an optional blower.

The Pacific Energy Story
Pacific Energy Fireplace Products was founded in 1978 by Paul Erickson in Duncan, British Columbia. It's best known for steel and cast-iron wood stoves, many finished in porcelain enamel from its own plant, and it also builds wood fireplaces, gas fireplaces, and gas stoves. The same company makes Town & Country gas fireplaces, True North, and Elegant Electric. Sweden's NIBE group became the majority owner in 2022, and NIBE's 2023 annual report lists the company as wholly owned.
