Who It's For
A long wall in a big room needs a fire with the same scale, and most linear fireplaces trade height for length. You want a wide modern fire that is also tall enough to look like a real one. If the fireplace is going on the main wall of an open great room, the Kozy Heat Nordik 60 TL is the size for it. A shorter linear leaves the wall looking half-finished; this one spans it.
What Makes It Special
The glass runs 60 inches wide and 20 inches tall, a traditional or birch log fire stretched across five feet, with flame height to match.
The screen front, ember-bed light, top light, and remote come included, and the heat is sized for a large open main floor. An optional heat-distribution kit and a one-piece black surround finish the wall.
It is approved for bedroom installs.
Possible Downsides
- The fan is optional, not included.
- The log set is a separate, required choice.
- It ships set up for natural gas. Running it on propane takes an add-on valve motor.
If you want one fire that fills a long wall, the Nordik 60 TL is the right decision. The whole room arranges itself around the fire.
Choose traditional or birch logs; optional black glass, black brick, Chicago brick, ledgestone, or herringbone firebox panels; a one-piece black rectangle surround; an optional heat-distribution kit; and an optional fan.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much of my home can the Kozy Heat Nordik 60 TL heat?
It's rated to warm about 1,300–2,550 sq ft. It runs at up to 51,000 BTU/h on either fuel and turns down to 34,000 BTU/h on natural gas or 40,000 on propane. The brochure lists its efficiency as 71.94% AFUE (73.37% steady state) on natural gas and 74.63% AFUE (75.75% steady state) on propane.
What does TL mean on the Nordik 60 TL, and how big is the fire?
TL stands for Tall Linear. The viewing area is 60 inches wide and 20 inches tall, and the unit itself is 69-1/2 inches wide, 46-1/8 inches tall, and 19-1/2 inches deep. The burner system is Kozy Heat's EVO elevated design with left, center, right, and bottom burners under a traditional or birch log set.
How is the Nordik 60 TL vented?
It's a direct-vent fireplace built for 5 x 8-inch co-axial pipe, venting straight up (3 to 50 feet) or out a wall: With 12 inches of vertical pipe the horizontal run can be up to 24 inches, and the longest setup is 25 feet up plus 25 feet across. It can be reduced to 4 x 6-5/8-inch pipe, but only for vertical terminations. The optional Kozy Power Vent (#KPV) is approved for horizontal terminations, and the fireplace can also vent up an existing Class A or masonry chimney with a 4-inch flexible liner.
Will the Nordik 60 TL work during a power outage?
Yes, as long as the backup batteries are fresh. The control module holds four AA batteries (not included) that keep the burner and flame-height adjustment working when the power goes out, but the lights and the optional fan won't run on battery. For everyday use, the fireplace needs a 120-volt, 6-amp supply that stays live at all times with no switch on it.
Does the Nordik 60 TL come with a fan, and how else can it move heat?
No, the fan kit is optional on the 60 TL, unlike the traditional Nordik fireplaces. To move heat, you can add the Komfort Zone Kit #KZK-062, which sends heat out a front plenum, and up to two Heat Transfer Kits that carry heat to another room (HTK-INT) or directly outside (HTK-EXT). The remote handles the flame, thermostat, lights, and fan speed when a fan is installed.
Can the Nordik 60 TL run on propane?
Yes, but it's built for natural gas, so propane takes a conversion kit plus a valve stepper motor that's sold separately. The manual notes the conversion is easier to do before the fireplace goes into the framed opening. On propane the input runs from 51,000 BTU/h down to 40,000 BTU/h.
Which parts do I need to order with the Nordik 60 TL?
The safety screen front, top light, and ember-bed light come with the fireplace, and the only required choice is the log set, traditional or birch. Firebox panels, the one-piece black rectangle surround, the fan kit, and the Komfort Zone Kit are all optional. The rectangle surround covers the edge of finishing material up to 1-5/8 inches thick.
Can I put a mantel or TV above the Nordik 60 TL?
In a standard install, a 6-inch-deep combustible mantel can start 12 inches above the top finishing edge, and an 8-inch non-combustible mantel can start right at that edge. For a TV, the manual strongly recommends the Komfort Zone Kit, which sends heat out a plenum above the TV and lets a 6-inch mantel sit at the finishing edge. The enclosure must be at least 80 inches tall either way, a TV recess up to 4-1/4 inches deep is allowed, and the final TV placement rests with the homeowner.
Can the Nordik 60 TL go in a mobile or manufactured home?
Yes, where local codes allow it. The manual approves it for an aftermarket, permanently located manufactured home (USA only) or mobile home, and it doesn't call for a separate mobile-home kit. The standard floor rule still applies: It sits on wood or a non-combustible surface, or on a metal or wood panel the full width and depth of the unit if the floor is carpet or tile.
