Who It's For
Many efficient wood fireplaces look like appliances: flat glass, square edges, nothing that says hearth. In a traditional room, that can feel out of place. You need a fireplace that looks classic and still heats. The RSF Pearl 3600 is for the homeowner who wants a real wood fire behind a black door and decorative faceplate, in what RSF calls refined, yet rustic styling, with enough output to warm up to 1,500 square feet. A plain modern box will heat the same room; this one looks like it belongs there.
What Makes It Special
The look is the point. A black decorative faceplate comes standard, so the fireplace reads as a traditional hearth the moment it is installed.
Behind the door is the same efficient firebox as the Focus 3600: 2.04 cubic feet, logs up to 18 inches, and heat for up to 1,500 square feet. It meets the 2020 federal emission standard, and like every RSF fireplace it carries a 30-year limited warranty.
Add the optional internal blower to move warm air around the room, gravity vent kits to send it to the space next door without a fan, or a heat dump for the nights the fire outruns the room.
Possible Downsides
- The faceplate look is fixed. For a clean, contemporary face, see the Focus 3600.
- The blower is optional. Without it, heat stays close to the fireplace.
- It is a wood fire. Plan on carrying wood and emptying ash.
If you want a fireplace that looks traditional and heats like a stove, the RSF Pearl 3600 is the right decision. Friends see the faceplate first and notice the warmth a moment later.
Options include gravity vent kits, a contemporary vent grill, an internal blower, a heat dump, and a firescreen certified for the Pearl.

The RSF Story
RSF Woodburning Fireplaces is the wood fireplace brand of Industrial Chimney Company (ICC), a privately owned manufacturer in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec. The letters stand for Renewable Solid Fuel. RSF started as RSF Energy in northern British Columbia, and ICC bought the line and moved it to Quebec. Every current RSF burns wood, and all but the see-through Focus ST are certified to the EPA's 2020 wood heater standard.
