Who It's For
A fireplace on one wall belongs to one room. In an open plan, or between a living room and a dining room, half the house only hears the fire. You need a fire you can see from both sides. The RSF Focus See-Thru is for the home that wants one wood fire shared by two rooms, with enough warmth for up to 1,000 square feet. Pick a single-sided fireplace and one room gets the view; pick this one and both do.
What Makes It Special
The fire shows through glass on both sides, so both rooms get the full view of one wood fire.
The firebox is big, 4.1 cubic feet, lined with realistic firebrick, and it takes logs up to 20 inches. Doors and black louvers come with it, an optional gravity vent kit lets extra heat rise into a room above or beside it without a fan, and the firebox can be drilled out to accept an aftermarket gas log set.
RSF designed it to share warmth and light with more than one area of the home, and rates it for supplemental heating only. Think of it as the centerpiece that warms the rooms on either side of it.
Possible Downsides
- It is for supplemental heat only. RSF notes it is not controllable like its other fireplaces; for whole-house heat, see the Opel or Focus SBR.
- Stone or brick facing needs rock retainer kits. Order two to finish both sides.
- It is a wood fire. Plan on carrying wood and clearing ash.
If you want one fire that two rooms can share, the RSF Focus See-Thru is the right decision. Dinner on one side, the couch on the other, and the same fire glowing between them.
Options include rock retainer kits, a gravity vent kit with insulated duct, andirons, and an outside air kit.

The RSF Story
RSF Woodburning Fireplaces is the wood fireplace brand of Industrial Chimney Company (ICC), a privately owned manufacturer in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec. The letters stand for Renewable Solid Fuel. RSF started as RSF Energy in northern British Columbia, and ICC bought the line and moved it to Quebec. Every current RSF burns wood, and all but the see-through Focus ST are certified to the EPA's 2020 wood heater standard.
