Who It's For
Most linear fireplaces are drawn for big walls, so a condo, den, or bedroom ends up with an oversized fire or a traditional box that fights the decor. You need a long, low fire scaled to a smaller room. If your style is contemporary and the wall is modest, the WS38 is the compact widescreen in the Town & Country line. Pick a full-size linear and it dominates the room; pick this one and it fits.
What Makes It Special
Town & Country designed the WS38 to look good even when it’s off: a smaller, sleek silhouette that reads as part of the architecture, then bold, full flames when you turn it on.
You choose between Black Diamond tumbled glass and the Reflections burner of river rock and diamond glass, with optional Metropolitan stones, over porcelain panels in four colors. An optional graphite or copper surround frames the glass.
Possible Downsides
- It’s certified as a decorative fireplace, not a heater; if warming the room is the goal, look at a heater-rated fireplace instead.
- Porcelain panels only; the handcrafted brick panels aren’t offered on the widescreen models, so for a brick look, see the TC36.
- The surround is an add-on, not included.
If you want a contemporary linear fire on a wall that isn’t huge, the WS38 is the right decision. The room looks finished with the fire off, and better with it on.
Choose the Black Diamond burner in its glass colors or the Reflections burner, add Metropolitan stones if you like, then finish the firebox in black, coffee bean brown, titanium, or copper porcelain and frame it with a graphite or copper surround.
