Who It's For
In a two-story great room or a hotel lobby, an ordinary fireplace looks small on a big wall, and the usual answer is a custom masonry hearth. You need a fire as big as the room. If your ceilings are tall and the fireplace is meant to hold the whole space together, the TC54 is the one. Choose a standard size and the wall swallows it; choose this one and the fire carries the room.
What Makes It Special
Town & Country calls the TC54 the largest factory-built fireplace of its kind in the world, made for great rooms and commercial spaces that used to need a custom hearth. Tall, full flames fill the opening.
The glass is ceramic made to nearly disappear; Town & Country says it’s so non-reflective that guests believe they’re looking at an open fire. You see flames, not the lamp across the room.
Possible Downsides
- It’s certified as a decorative fireplace, not a heater; if warming the room is the goal, look at a heater-rated fireplace instead.
- Four burner choices, fewer than the TC42’s eight; for split logs, see the TC42.
- The Birchwood burner is natural-gas only on this model.
If your room is too big for an ordinary fireplace, the TC54 is the right decision. From every corner of the great room, the fire is the first thing anyone sees.
Choose the Country Home, Birchwood, Black Diamond, or Tranquility burner, then finish the firebox in Park Avenue, Manhattan, Aspen, Mount Vernon, or Madison brick, or black, coffee bean brown, titanium, or copper porcelain; andirons are available for the log sets.

The Town & Country Story
Town & Country Fireplaces is the luxury gas fireplace brand of Pacific Energy Fireplace Products Ltd., of Duncan, British Columbia. The name has been in use since 2002, and its first fireplaces introduced the clean-face look: edge-to-edge glass with no louvers or visible controls. Every Town & Country is a direct-vent gas fireplace, and every one is certified as a decorative appliance, not a heater. Sweden's NIBE Group has owned all of Pacific Energy since 2023.
