Who It's For
A room without a fireplace often feels like it is missing its center, and a big linear unit can be more fire than the space needs. You need a right-sized gas fireplace that builds into the wall and heats the room on demand. If you are building or remodeling and want a gas fire for a room or open area of roughly 650 to 1,250 square feet, the Tofino z25 is the one. It frames into the wall and is finished around it, so plan for that work too.
What Makes It Special
The Tofino comes two ways. The standard model ships with painted black firebox panels, a black glass bed, top lighting, and a remote. The Premium adds a high-definition split log set over ember-bed lighting and a variable-speed blower.
Heat and flame height are variable, so you can turn it down to a full, rich glow for a mild evening, at roughly half its full output, or up for a cold one. Four firebox panel choices let you match the room: Black Porcelain, Fluted, Ledgestone, or Red Brick.
Possible Downsides
- The standard model has no blower or logs. Both are add-ons; the Premium includes a log set and the blower.
- The Driftwood log set fits the standard model only. For the split-log look, choose the Premium.
- Propane needs a conversion kit. It ships set up for natural gas.
If you want a right-sized gas fireplace built into a new or remodeled room, the Tofino z25 is the right decision. The room finally has a center, and it is warm the moment you walk in.
The Tofino z25 comes as the standard model or the Premium, with Ledgestone, Red Brick, Fluted, or Black Porcelain panels, an optional Driftwood log set for the standard model, and a propane conversion kit.

The Pacific Energy Story
Pacific Energy Fireplace Products was founded in 1978 by Paul Erickson in Duncan, British Columbia. It's best known for steel and cast-iron wood stoves, many finished in porcelain enamel from its own plant, and it also builds wood fireplaces, gas fireplaces, and gas stoves. The same company makes Town & Country gas fireplaces, True North, and Elegant Electric. Sweden's NIBE group became the majority owner in 2022, and NIBE's 2023 annual report lists the company as wholly owned.
