Who It's For
A fireplace on one wall serves one room; the room on the other side of that wall gets nothing. You need a fire both rooms can see. If you’re planning an open layout—kitchen and family room, or living room and dining room—and want the fire to divide the space without closing it off, the TC36 See-Through is the traditional choice. A single-sided unit makes one room the favorite; this one makes the wall between them the centerpiece.
What Makes It Special
Glass on both faces gives each room the full fire, not the back of a firebox. Town & Country fills the generously proportioned firebox with tall, bold flames, so the view from the kitchen is as good as the view from the couch.
You choose between the Chalet See-Thru logs, made for a two-sided fire, and the modern Black Diamond glass or Tranquility river rock. Both faces are clean, with no louvers or visible controls, and a remote and wall switch run it.
Possible Downsides
- It’s certified as a decorative fireplace, not a heater; if warming the room is the goal, look at a heater-rated fireplace instead.
- Three burner choices instead of six; for the widest choice of logs, see the single-sided TC36.
- The tumbled-glass burner pairs only with the porcelain panels, not the brick.
If you want one fire that two rooms share equally, the TC36 See-Through is the right decision. Dinner on one side, conversation on the other, and the same fire in front of everyone.
Choose the Chalet See-Thru, Black Diamond, or Tranquility burner, then line the firebox in Park Avenue, Manhattan, Aspen, Mount Vernon, or Madison brick, or black, coffee bean brown, titanium, or copper porcelain.

The Town & Country Story
Town & Country Fireplaces is the luxury gas fireplace brand of Pacific Energy Fireplace Products Ltd., of Duncan, British Columbia. The name has been in use since 2002, and its first fireplaces introduced the clean-face look: edge-to-edge glass with no louvers or visible controls. Every Town & Country is a direct-vent gas fireplace, and every one is certified as a decorative appliance, not a heater. Sweden's NIBE Group has owned all of Pacific Energy since 2023.
