Who It's For
An open fire outside is at the mercy of the wind, and a fire pit doesn’t give an outdoor room the focal point a fireplace does. You need a fireplace built to live outdoors. If you’re finishing a patio or outdoor room and want the classic look of a wood-burning hearth, the TC36 Outdoor brings the indoor TC36’s burners and panels outside. Settle for an open flame and it bends with every gust; choose this one and the fire stays put behind the glass.
What Makes It Special
Town & Country builds its outdoor fireplaces to stand up to the elements: every exposed component is reinforced with stainless steel, and disappearing ceramic glass keeps the big, bold flames out of the wind.
You get the same Design-A-Fire choices as indoors, with six burners from stacked logs to tumbled glass and nine panels in brick or porcelain, so the patio can match the house.
Possible Downsides
- It is built for outdoor use only; for one fire shared between inside and out, see the WS54 Indoor-Outdoor See-Through.
- It runs from a wall switch, not a remote.
- The Country Home log set is natural-gas only; propane homes choose from the other burners.
If you want a traditional fireplace outside that holds up to wind and weather, the TC36 Outdoor is the right decision. After dinner, everyone stays on the patio a little longer.
Choose the Country Home, Heartwood, Chalet II, Black Diamond, Tranquility, or Birchwood burner, then finish the firebox in Park Avenue, Manhattan, Aspen, Mount Vernon, or Madison brick, or black, coffee bean brown, titanium, or copper porcelain; andirons are available for the log sets.

The Town & Country Story
Town & Country Fireplaces is the luxury gas fireplace brand of Pacific Energy Fireplace Products Ltd., of Duncan, British Columbia. The name has been in use since 2002, and its first fireplaces introduced the clean-face look: edge-to-edge glass with no louvers or visible controls. Every Town & Country is a direct-vent gas fireplace, and every one is certified as a decorative appliance, not a heater. Sweden's NIBE Group has owned all of Pacific Energy since 2023.
